Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecoliah, from Jerusalem. He did what was right in the Lord’s sight, just as his father Amaziah had done.

He was prepared to seek God as long as Zechariah[a] lived,(A) who taught him to fear God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.
